Purposes of data processing

Purpose A: Logging of visits to the website based on the IP address to evaluate the number of visitors and the pages viewed.
Purpose B: Logging of system events with the IP address for troubleshooting purposes.
Purpose C: Recording of first (given) name, family name, street, building number, postal/zip code, town/city, e-mail, annual fee – and if desired also salutation, title, date of birth, company, telephone, IBAN, BIC – for the purpose of joining the association.
Purpose D: Matomo (formerly Piwik) is used to analyse the use of the website by visitors. For this purpose, Matomo uses page views to collect visitor data relating to the technical properties and activities of visitors to the website. The data collection is pseudonymised. The results are prepared by Matomo and presented visually.  

Legal basis for data processing

Data processing for purposes A, B and D is carried out on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6 (1) (f) of EU GDPR. Data processing for purpose C is carried out based on the subject's voluntary consent in accordance with Article 6 (1) (a) of EU GDPR.

Legitimate interests of the data processor

For purpose A: The website serves to attract new members and to provide information to interested parties. In order to be able to measure the effectiveness of the website and to enable the website to be optimised on the basis of this data, data is collected for purpose A.
For purpose B: In order to be able to continually ensure the technical availability of the website, details of system events are saved and evaluated. In order to be able to recognise and prevent intentionally caused disruption, details of all events are stored together with IP addresses.
For purpose D: The website is used to attract new members and to provide information to interested parties. For this it is important to optimally adapt the website to the needs of the visitor and to maximise the website’s reach. Data is collected to measure the effectiveness of these measures.

Matomo (formerly Piwik)

This website uses Matomo, an open-source software for the statistical analysis of visitor access. Matomo uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and that enable your use of the website to be analysed.
